Meet
Valerie
Originally from sunny California, Valerie Norton is a fantasy adventure author of cinematic upper Young Adult and Adult novels. A USC Film alumna, Valerie serves as President of Sandbox Strategies, a video games PR and influencer agency. She now lives in New Jersey with her husband, cats, and an energetic golden retriever.
Her debut novel, THE DARKNESS BENEATH, will be published March 9, 2027 by Alcove Press. Valerie is represented by Bethany Hendrix of Spencerhill Associates.
USC Alum
Valerie graduated with highest honors from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, with an emphasis in film and television critical studies. Her studies in history and archaeology brought her to Greece, where she explored ancient ruins even Indiana Jones and Lara Croft would envy.
Video Game PR President
At 22, Valerie moved to Manhattan for a career in video games, and she hasn’t been tan since! Now President of Sandbox Strategies, her career spans a wealth of titles and genres, from mobile flicks to story-driven blockbusters. To her delight, her work on Baldur’s Gate 3 even led her to organize a media event in a crypt in Belgium(!).

As an upper YA/A fantasy author, Valerie has been both a mentor and a mentee for the WriteMentor program. Her stories are packed with adventure, dangerous romance, and morally gray girls who will either kiss you or kill you. Maybe both.
